Support ArtsAltoona by eating a great meal!
We are having a Dine to Donate event at Texas Roadhouse on Tuesday, August 18 from 3 to 10pm. You can eat in or get your meal to take out.Present this flyer to the cashier and Texas Roadhouse will donate 10% of your total food purchases to ArtsAltoona. We will be outside the doors selling bags of peanuts while our supply lasts (they aren’t available in the restaurant at this time). With each bag purchased you receive a coupon good for a FREE Cactus Blossom, Fried Pickles, Rattlesnake Bites, Cheese Fries, or Tater Skins appetizer with the purchase of an adult entree (dine in only). If you can’t wait to get your peanuts, we have them available now at the ArtsAltoona Center. Just let us know that you are coming by and we’ll be there to meet you. If you can’t join us on the 18th (or even if you can) we will also benefit from the sale of Texas Roadhouse gift cards, so let us know what you would like to purchase. Lastly, please share the post on our Facebook page with your friends.
Street Eats with a Side of Art
Mark your calendar for Wednesday, August 26 from 5 to 8pm. We are building on the success of our New Kids on the Block pARTy and have lots of great plans in the making for our next family friendly event with food trucks, music, free arts participation activities for all ages, a wellness activity and much more. This event just happens to fall on the annual Women’s Equality Day and this year it is actually the Women’s Suffrage Centennial – the 19th Amendment to the US Constitution granting women the right to vote was adopted on August 26, 1920. We will be including various elements to the evening that highlight that theme. More specifics will be announced as plans are solidified.
Paint Pouring Party
A good time was had by all who participated in our first fundraiser at the ArtsAltoona Center. Candy Holliday, our Marketing and Development Chair made arrangements with Paint Party by Sarah to hold a pouring paint party. Sarah taught us and demonstrated several different techniques that can be used by beginners like most of us. We each chose three colors plus black or white and then used the techniques (one or more) to create our own personal masterpiece! I have included a photo of mine. It was a lot of fun and of the nearly 20 people there, many said that they would come back to do something similar again. Maybe next time you will join us! Keep the arts alive,
