Arts and More Arts Opportunities

Mommy and Me Participants

The ArtsAltoona Center is coming more and more alive with activities! Mommy and Me. Paint and Sip. Tours. Artist Gallery Showing. Art Market. Learning Pods. After School Arts Programs. Some of these have already happened and more are being planned.

Paint & Sip Thanks

We are very pleased that the attendees at our Paint & Sip event seemed to have a fun time, enjoyed some wine samples (and purchases) from ReKlaimed Vines Winery, and created their own lovely floral painting with guidance from Sarah Jubeck from Paint Party by Sarah.

A big thank you to Candy Holliday for coordinating the event and to Leah Klevan for assisting with logistics and publicity. They are working hard, along with Olivia Steele, to make the Blank Canvas (lower level of the education center) a very desirable space to hold events. Let us know if you are interested in renting it for your events at info@artsaltoona.org.

Art Market

Our first ever Art Market is scheduled for Saturday, April 17 from 11 am to 4 pm. Artisan Vendors are encouraged to contact us to participate in this and future events. Please email us at info@artsaltoona.org. The Market will be FREE admission. More details to follow as more commitments are obtained. This in being held in conjunction with our first ever Artist Gallery Showing by Megan Devine from 4 to 7pm the same day which was highlighted in last week’s newsletter. Be sure to check the ArtsAltoona Facebook  and/or the ArtsAltoona Center web site for more information as it evolves.

Paint the Town ArtsBoxes

Did you like to paint by numbers when you were a kid? I know that I did. I am not very talented in that realm, so being able to have a painting already sketched out for me to just fill in the lines with the right colors definitely appealed to me!

ArtsAltoona has a new opportunity for you to get your skills directed to creating paintings of local attractions. Thanks to our friends at Explore Altoona who shared some of their beautiful photographs, you have a choice of Baker Mansion, the Courthouse, the Horseshoe Curve and Tom & Joe’s – one of Altoona’s favorite restaurants! You may also wish to have a custom canvas created from your own photo.

Each kit includes a color coded 11″ x 17″ canvas, paintbrushes, and the corresponding paints to create your work of art! This selection is for Spring and will be available through the end of April, then a new selection will be made available. Seventy five percent of your purchase will go to helping with our renovations, programs, and events.
