Now that Spring has officially arrived we are getting even busier at the ArtsAltoona Center. Plans are continuing for the Art Market and related activities. We have some new “merch” available for sale. Our ArtsBoxes are selling. More people are Liking and Following our ArtsAltoona Center Facebook page to stay up to date on what is happening at the center.
Art Market
Plans for our Art Market are continuing. The Spring Art Market is scheduled for Saturday, April 17. The Market itself will be held in the Blank Canvas (the lower level of the education building) from 11am to 4pm.
While that is happening, two ceramics classes will be presented in the Ward Room on the main floor of the education building. Our presenter for the classes is Daniel Saville of Sniklefritz Studios. Each class will be one hour long and each is limited to a maximum of 15 participants. The registration fee is $30 which includes the materials and instruction to complete your chosen project. The Leaf Dish class is at noon and the Pinch Pot Monster class starts at 2pm. Check the Facebook event “Ceramics Classes at the Art Market” for all of the details and the link to purchase your ticket.
After the Art Market wraps up, from 4 to 7pm, our first Artist Gallery Showing with Megan Devine will take place in The Sanctuary (I think you can figure out where that is). We are excited to be showing off the work of this young artist.
Merch available for sale
Our in house artist, Olivia Steele, has created designs with the “Art Changes Everything” theme and the concept of supporting local artists. There are t-shirts, pullover hoodies and sweatshirts available for purchase. Some are also available with our ArtsAltoona logo also. The designs or logo can be printed on a variety of colors from which you can choose. The proceeds will benefit upcoming free programming for youth in our community!
