Potatofest and Harvestfest This Weekend!

By September 24, 2021 September 27th, 2021 Music

Here is a listing of area live music and online music happenings for the weekend and week of Friday, September 24 through Thursday, September 30.

As the page has been turned to fall, some of the first fall season festivals and events highlight live music happenings over the next seven days.

After scaling back to a much smaller event last year due to COVID-19, Potatofest returns to downtown Ebensburg on Saturday to celebrate all things potato. Multiple food vendors and nonprofit groups will offer a wide variety of spud-based cuisine. There will also be multiple fall craft and other vendors, special offers from various downtown Ebensburg businesses, and live music on four different stages. See the listing below for the complete Potatofest music itinerary.

Delgrosso’s Amusement Park in Tipton closes out their 2021 season with the annual Harvestfest, also making its return on Saturday and Sunday. Various craft and produce vendors, plentiful food from various nonprofit groups, children’s activities and entertainment, plus the ever-popular park rides will be available. And providing live music both days will be Nashville-based family country and rock’n’roll band Rockland Road (who performed here in 2018 under their former name, Martin Family Circus). Admission to Harvestfest is $6 per person.

The Harmony Grange Fair near Westover wraps up on Friday and Saturday nights. Visitors can enjoy their final tastes of fair cuisine, plus live music both nights; western PA-based country music group The Hobbs Sisters performs Friday evening, and The Moore Brothers Band plays on Saturday night.

For those in need of an infusion of blues music, Johnstown’s Venue Of Merging Arts celebrates the tenth anniversary of their “Blues Gathering” events with a celebration gala on Saturday at Lorain Borough Park in Johnstown. Many performers from the Blues Gathering’s first decade will perform, including Black Cat Moan, Pittsburgh’s Charlie Barath Blues Band, The Stone Bridge Blues Band, Trunk Full Of Blues and more. The music begins at 3 p.m.

And for those interested in a slightly longer road trip, the inaugural E-Train Music Festival happens Saturday on the grounds of Cherry Runn Lodge near Homer City. A full slate of bands and artists perform beginning at 1 p.m., capped by a headlining performance by western PA-based Allman Brothers tribute band An Evening With. Food trucks, libations, crafters, vendors, children’s activities and fire twirlers will be available. Adult tickets are $20 (youngsters 17 and under get in for free), and proceeds benefit the New Alexandria Fire Department.
