In the summer of 2020 ArtsAltoona launched our Street Eats food truck event series. We kicked off the series with the New Kids on the Block Party. These events are free of charge and family friendly, featuring a variety of food trucks, live music, and interactive arts activities. We aim to bring members of our community and specifically of our neighborhood in Altoona’s Sixth Ward together. With the acquisition of our new home, ArtsAltoona is in a position to educate and inform, to support and assist, to create and generate through a partnership with the community we serve. The intent of this event series is to create awareness of our building and position in the neighborhood, engage local residents and businesses in community outreach, and create artistic opportunities.

At our two 2020 events we welcomed the Altoona Brass Collective who performed live, a live remote radio broadcast from WRTA, mural painting and craft activities, a yoga demonstration from Bloom Yoga, and presentations from other non-profit organizations such as Family Services of Blair County, the Brian Morden Foundation, and the Altoona Public Library. We also featured a variety of food trucks!

We are excited to offer our Street Eats series again in 2021!
