Honoring a Master

Joe Servello has been a prolific artist in Altoona for many years. His murals and paintings brighten homes and public spaces across our community, and his illustrated books span children’s stories to adult mystery and fiction.

When his home was being readied for sale, an unfinished woodcut was discovered. Unable to finish the work himself, Joe asked artist Kevin Kutz to complete it. With the help of woodcarver Tom McCarty, Kevin brought the piece—titled The Philosopher—to life.

Kevin then hand-printed editions of The Philosopher and created t-shirts featuring the artwork. A longtime supporter of ArtsAltoona, Joe wanted these works to help support future programming.

We are proud to honor his life and legacy by making them available to you.

Hand-Pulled Prints – $50 each
